I’ll bet you sang the title, up until I ruined it 🙂
I had the pleasure of attending a high school baseball game last week. I do a lot of work as a private tutor, and two of my students play on their school baseball teams. Both are good players, with one playing as a shortstop, the other as a pitcher. I had yet to attend either of their games, so when I found out that their teams would be playing each other, I jumped on the opportunity to see them both at once!
For the longest time, the only sporting events I would attend were baseball games. The first I ever attended was a Phillies game with my local youth group, and I can’t for the life of me remember who they played. All I remember was that it rained (and became my curse ever since) at the game and we left somewhat early because we got soaked (but when you’re 10, that’s not such a big deal). I continued in this venue after I moved to Atlanta, seeing lots of Braves games as my father occasionally got tickets from his company. It wasn’t until last year that I attended my first ever football game, finally breaking out of the baseball diamond.
Anyway, I have to say that I was pretty impressed with my boys! The pitcher was great; while the other team went through a different pitcher nearly every 1.5 innings, he stayed for more than half of the game. Also, the shortstop was awesome at catching the ground balls, especially the ones that bounced. And best of all, it didn’t rain! So glad that that streak is over 🙂
So best of luck to both guys and their teams! In case they meet again, I’ll be there… that doesn’t sound *too* ominous, does it? 😉
